Saltwater & Petals Abstract series III

Monicartist

There are places that hold your heart when language fails you. For me, those places have always been the ocean and flowers.

Saltwater & Petals is a series born from emotional landscapes rather than physical ones — a world where blooms meet tides, and storms swirl without destroying the softness beneath them. These paintings are textured, layered, and intuitive. They carry the mood of a coastal dream: sometimes turbulent, sometimes quiet, always honest.

After losing my mother and stepping away from a career that drained my spirit and body, I returned to painting not with a plan, but a need — a need to feel held, to feel safe, to feel myself again. The ocean became my witness. The flowers became my proof that growth can continue even in harsh conditions. Together, they shaped a visual language of resilience, surrender, and self-recognition.

This series explores the emotional “weather systems” we all carry:

  • the fog of freeze mode

  • the sparks of remembering who you are

  • the heaviness of inherited pain

  • and the softness of finally arriving in a moment that doesn’t demand perfection

These works are created for collectors who don’t just buy art to fill a wall, but to feel a connection in a space. Art that brings atmosphere, movement, and emotion into a room — especially those feminine bedroom interiors you love to style your work in.

Saltwater doesn’t ask you to explain your feelings. Petals don’t stop falling just because the wind gets strong. And healing doesn’t always look calm while it’s happening.

Sometimes it looks like a garden walking into the sea and finally letting itself be carried.

Thank you for witnessing this chapter of my work. Art saved me when titles couldn’t. And I hope these pieces bring serenity into your world the way the ocean once did for mine.
